Feelings vs Facts II

In every situation there is a choice to be made. Most people make it thousands of times a day without even realizing it. Though largely unnoticed, it's absolutely vital and it happens in seconds. The  choice is between false beliefs and God's truth. This choice is what dictates our thoughts, emotions, and actions.

Choosing false beliefs leads to ungodly thoughts. Ungodly thoughts lead to emotions.  At this point the emotions can either reinforce the ungodly beliefs or they lead to ungodly actions.

In a similar pattern, choosing God's truth leads to Godly thoughts.  Godly thoughts lead to emotions, which lead to Godly actions.

While there are multiple core false beliefs, here are four most common ones that many people find themselves choosing without even realizing it: The Performance Trap, The Approval Addict, The Blame Game, and Shame.  Below is a chart of each one and God's truth which proves why each is a  false belief.

As we become more mindful of our choices, we can then be more intentional with what and how we choose.  Thankfully, we don't have to do it alone!  God is with us in every situation ready and willing to help....we only need to ask.

"If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.

~ James 1:5-6
